A 2010 Recap

I love all the creative Christmas letters we receive each year.....letters written as poems, songs, newspaper ads, film reviews, book reviews, the year in an alphabet, and my favorite a Craig's list ad for someone selling their children. I love to write but at this time of year with all the hustle and bustle and busy-ness that surrounds it my creative juices always feel tapped out and I often resort to writing a simple list of our year long activities and adventures (snooze) or writing the classic make-our-family-look-too-perfect letter where you rattle off all the accomplishments of the year and leave the readers thinking wow that family is amazing and also really annoying. But not this year. Rather than boring my regular blog followers with recycling my previous posts of the year I thought I would use this "Christmas Letter" post to share the events I never got around to posting throughout 2010. If you are visiting for the first time feel free to explore previous posts to get a flavor for our family and our daily lives here in - the currently insanely cold - Ohio.
Talia is always getting into some kind of trouble......
Loves to find ways to entertain herself.Every once in a while she acts her age. She got a doll she named Katie for her birthday and just had to dress like her!

But then sometimes she acts too old. This was her "teenager-going-to-prom" Halloween costume.
One of my favorite photos of the summer. The girls at the beach in Mendocino, CA.
A favorite family pastime, the cement slides.
Our first Girl Scout over-nighter, Klondike Camp. It was soooo cold! Christine's troop just came for the day but I took Taylor's troop over night. The girls had to dress "old fashioned" as they put it, for a school activity and I MADE THEIR OUTFITS! (With my sewing machine and not my hot glue gun - please be impressed, I never sew).Taylor tries on a bonnet at a one room school house in Old Sacramento.Chris took us to Lake Erie claiming that it was just like the ocean. Hmmm.....Say cheese Taylor! Now this is the REAL ocean.Taylor's 4th grade state map project.Christine sure loves horses.
Christine, Taylor, and I got to march in the Memorial Day parade with the Girl Scouts. When my mom came this Spring she helped me make 30+ poodle skirts for the Girl Scout Daddy/Daughter Dance.Does Lake Erie look like the ocean yet?At the train yard in Old Sac.Enjoying candy from a local Old Sac shop.High School Class of 1990.......Happy 20 year reunion Chris. Did I mention that Chris and I won an award at the reunion? MOST FERTILE! Nice. Here is a photo of the five finger toe shoes that Chris and I run in. Obviously these are Chris's feet not mine. At least I hope that is obvious! My shoes are red and black (predictable) and have a Mary Jane strap.Chris joined the human race on FB this year and decided to try out some really goofy profile poses.Minor league baseball game on family night. Paul came for the food!!!!Ahhh, San Francisco! Our pumpkins. We planted 500 pumpkin seeds and after much weeding and watering we harvested only 33 thanks to some hungry deer. We didn't have enough to sell but we had fun carving.A day at the beach.Happy birthday Aubrey. She keeps reminding me that next year she will be a teenager. YIKES!Me and my good friend Becky, the other Hedrick (notice there is no 'a' in her name).Off to see Wicked for our 13th anniversary. I can't believe it has been 13 years! Where did the time go? Check out my homemade necklace that took me ages to finish and when I ran out of patience my awesome sister Jackie finished it for me!!
Easter outfitsEaster brunch. The girls made fun of me for taking this photo of the table and food. I said it was for my blog and then I never posted it so here it is.And being the mom of four girls I can't end the year without sharing hair photos considering how much of my time is consumed with fixing hair and not just for my girls. I have girls come over for up-dos for proms, homecomings, weddings, communions, debutant balls.... you name it I think I have done hair for it so here are a few photos of what I like to do.

And some photos just for fun. This is Aubrey in her Jonas Brothers concert outfit.A very happy birthday for Taylor.Christine found the camera and took pictures of herself.Frosting Christmas cookies and eating most of the frosting, my little sugar Talia.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
