A Change of Plans

Monday we switched our cell phone provider and decided to add texting and a third phone to our plan. Originally we had picked the set number of texts per month plan and as we stood at the check out listening to the endless chatter about who our daughters were going to text Chris and I looked at each other, reading our minds the young man helping us asks "would you like me to check on the price difference for unlimited texting?" In the end we went with that. Chris has a great discount through work so upgrading our plan and adding a line we still pay less than we were with our previous provider. Everyone seemed happy.... then this morning at 6:46am I received the following text message:
cn u make toast 4 brkfst
I wasn't sure whether to laugh or be annoyed, so I laughed then went and had a chat with my eager pre-teen about appropriate texting - which, by the way, does not include breakfast orders.

Who Wants To Be Famous??

At dinner last night for one reason or another the conversation turned to the topic of kissing. Christine said, "In our church when you get married you kiss like this." And then she puckered her lips to demonstrate. Then Talia chimed in with her kissing philosophy. "Yeah but if you're famous you get to kiss like this." She opened her mouth, closed her eyes, and moved her head back and forth. I am not sure what she has been watching but I think all tv and movies are now off limits. Once they are old enough to date I will be reminding them as they leave the house that THEY ARE NOT FAMOUS!
unrelated side note: I have been really busy lately but I will be posting pics of Spring Break soon.

Easter Egg Contest

For some reason we have managed to turn classic family traditions into an intense (and fun) competition. We spend alot of time coloring our Easter eggs and trying to come up with the most creative, unique, fun etc. eggs. Then we take a vote and the winner gets, well nothing actually except for bragging rights for the next year. This year we thought it would be fun to post our creations and leave the voting to you. Which is your favorite egg and why? Tell us what you like.

UPDATE: For those who inquired - all the eggs were colored with dye. For some we just used Q-tips and treated the dye like watercolor paint, and of course we did use crayons to draw pictures before coloring them.
